We completed a stylish fit-out of the flagship Bathroom Life store in Newmarket, Auckland. The project scope involved demolition, construction of new walls, ceilings and partitions, and joinery installation. We also completed the fit-out of a customer design hub and showroom display. We installed a new frameless glass automatic door, a fully functional working shower display.

The challenge

Reece is a premium supplier of plumbing and bathroom products across New Zealand. We were engaged to fit-out their new flagship Bathroom Life store in Newmarket, Auckland with the goal of creating a beautiful and impactful showroom to show off their high-quality products.

As always, ensuring the project was completed within the allotted budget was a high priority. Other requirements included a fully functioning shower display area, a customer friendly layout with sufficient space for all 66 display fixings, and areas for personalised consultations with Reece’s designers.

The approach

With a complete, end-to-end approach to this project, we were able to mitigate the many moving parts throughout.

The initial changes to the layout involved some demolition and the construction of new walls, ceilings and partitions before getting into constructing the showroom displays.

With many of the fixtures being imported from Australia, our site management team played a large role in coordinating deliveries and ensuring they were transported safely before being installed. For the shower wall this was especially critical as Australian plumbing standards are slightly different than New Zealand standards. Some quick thinking and creativity from our team saw them sourcing parts and finding a local plumber to ensure the functional shower wall was fully compliant.

The result

The new space blew the client away. Refined finishing touches such as the frameless glass automatic door and unique display layouts add a premium feel to the showroom while the functioning shower display is a stand-out feature, allowing customers to see a range of top-of-the-line shower heads in action.

With a little creativity and a dash of ingenuity, we brought the space to life in a way that matches the Reece Bathrooms brand, sets them apart from their competition, and thanks to an accurate costing breakdown at the start of the project, we can cleanly under budget.
